The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched the “Remarkable Thailand, The Healthy Journey” campaign, targeting visitors from Southeast and South Asia looking for medical and wellness services in a short-haul location.

Chattan Kunjara Na Ayudhya, TAT Deputy Guv for International Marketing (Asia and South Pacific), said “Fantastic Thailand, The Healthy Journey” project reflected the “New Normal” tourism and represented the changing traveler behaviour patterns and options affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. “Travelers are moving towards short-haul destinations and putting more concentrate on health and health journeys. This trend is substantiated by our study on traveler behaviour patterns during 2016-2019, which found that visitors from Southeast and South Asia have placed ‘spa and health’ among the Leading 5 activities and ‘health and medical check-up’ among the Leading 10 activities when going to Thailand.”

The “Amazing Thailand, The Healthy Journey” was launched in July 2020, with the support of the Department of ASEAN Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as numerous personal healthcare centres. TAT welcomed ambassadors and diplomats from 11 countries, consisting of Myanmar, Lao PDR., Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Brunei, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and Pakistan to take part in 4 familiarisation trips that showcased health and health tourism experiences, including contemporary and alternative Thai medical treatments in Bangkok, Prachin Buri, Chachoengsao, Chon Buri, Kanchanaburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan.All the ambassadors and diplomats participated who in this campaign likewise took pleasure in and got opportunities to share their experience at”The Healthy Journey Gala Supper “held previously this month.
